It’s been awhile - a LONG while - I know! I’ve been scrapping when I get the chance, which is not much considering my daughter just started second grade and my son is 10 months old and cruising the furniture. My craft room is 75% done, and I’ve just got to move some more supplies up from my basement studio. We are back on a loose schedule here at home, and so far I have been getting the baby to nap in the morning for a good 2 hours. All I have to do now is NOT clean the house or do laundry during his nap and scrap instead!

One great tip I found with a new baby in the house - glass baby food jars make great containers for eyelets, brads, and any item you just have a small amount of.  I use mason/jelly jars in various sizes to store buttons and ribbons, but the baby food jars are perfect for tiny items.  Plus, I can still see all of the contents when the jars are up on the shelf.

Anyhow, just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that I (along with the baby) will be at Podcamp Philly this weekend brushing up on skills and reconnecting with my awesome social media friends!  If you are in the area, and interested in learning about podcasting - from topics, production, monetizing, and engaging your audience.  All things I have let go to the curb in the last year or so, but trust me, I think about you all the time!  For me, podcasting is not as easy as picking up a microphone and putting out a show.  It takes a minimum of 15 hours to get a project outlined, scrapbook project completed, notes taken, recordings done, and editing finished.  As you can see, doing all that by myself, without a partner, is very hard!  Because of that, and the fact that I really want to pick up the show again, I will be changing the format of SCRAPcast a bit going forward.  I will still do the ‘educational/conversational’ type shows I’ve done in the past, but also be doing more ‘coffee & chat’ type formats.

I’ve never had a partner to do the show with, and I’ve had a difficult time finding someone that fits the bill for me.  I had searched in the past, but never found anyone local to me that could travel to my home once a week, every week, and that had the personality I needed for the show.  (I did talk and meet with some really great people, but the schedule proved to be difficult for most, as well as their specific family/life circumstances).  I think going forward, as much as I’d like a partner, I’ll have to do it solo.  I do produce content and production podcasts for several clients professionally, but somehow they don’t feel like ‘my’ shows.  So back to SCRAPcast I go!

Hopefully after this weekend’s Podcamp Philly I will have a renewed spirit for podcasting, and content creation, as well as reconnecting with friends!
